Employment of international students

Relations in the field of external labor migration are regulated by the legislation on external labor migration, international treaties of the Republic of Belarus, as well as international legal acts constituting the law of the Eurasian Economic Union.

The legislation on external labor migration is based on the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus and consists of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On External Labor Migration" and other legislative acts.

If an international treaty of the Republic of Belarus establishes different rules than those provided for by the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On External Labor Migration," then the rules of the international treaty apply.

Foreign citizens may work in the Republic of Belarus subject to the availability of a special permit for the right to work in the Republic of Belarus and the conclusion of an employment contract.

Part two of Article 2 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On External Labor Migration" establishes a list of foreign citizens who are not covered by this Law of the Republic of Belarus "On External Labor Migration." When hiring such persons, the employer should not receive permission to attract foreign labor, as well as special permission for each foreign citizen.

Also, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus has established the following list of professions of workers (positions of employees), to which foreign citizens or stateless persons who do not have permission to permanently reside in the Republic of Belarus are involved, without taking into account restrictions on the protection of the national labor market (Resolution of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus 19.12.2023  No.52)
